I’m working on a Law exercise and need support.
Search the internet for a film/movie where there was a legal dispute. I am allowing for a broad range of legal disputes. Some examples of legal disputes may be disputes over original idea credits or writing credits. You can also write about contact disputes between producers. Please do not write about music copyright in the film- we’ve covered that in a different chapter.
1. Tell me the name of the movie and describe the dispute.
2. Was the dispute resolved in a court or was it settled out of court?
3. What was the resolution?
4. Do you think that either party could have avoided the legal dispute? How? (Think about what we have learned in this chapter as well as a chapter on contracts to see if you can come up with a way the parties could have avoided their problems.)
Requirements: do not matter
Please write a short essay the response to the following prompt. The essay should be between 200 and 300 words. Going a little over 300 is fine. But, you must have at least 200 words to communicate your ideas.
PROMPT: You are an aspiring TV content creator. You have already written a script for a TV pilot and are trying to get your idea into production. For our purposes, we will say that you are talking to Hulu about your idea.
-Based on what you know so far from your Entertainment Law class, how would you go about getting your idea into production? Think about the keywords/definitions in the PowerPoint, i.e, treatment, step outline, etc.
-What would you present to Hulu to convince them that you have a good idea and why? (For example, if you presented a step-outline why is that better than treatment and vice versa.)
-Would you need to create a corporate structure or would you do this as a sole proprietor? Why did you select your corporate structure?
