Exploring Native American Culture

The quote given by author Sarah Vowell is an embodiment of the changes that have happened in the American society over the last few decades that have made Americans to be freed of history. In the past, people who she descended from could not have the privilege to move or travel to any region of the country without fearing that some of their rights and freedoms could be violated.  In the quote, she also means that she can do whatever she wants and travel to any part of the country without fear that she can be discriminated or segregated against since these rights have become universal for everyone in the country.
