This discussion supports the following objectives:
- Analyze clinical data to identify trends and present data for healthcare decision making.
- Analyze and present data for healthcare decision making (such as demonstrating quality, safety, and effectiveness of healthcare).
Data can be illustrated in a variety of ways. For this discussion, we will analyze how data can be depicted most effectively.
- Briefly explain the purpose of using tables and graphs to represent data.
- Using any peer-reviewed research, select a table or graph included in the research and insert it into the content of your post.
- If you are unable to save the image and insert, you may include it as an attachment.
- Remember to provide an appropriate citation.
- Provide an analysis of the table or graph, explaining both pros and cons of the data presented, as well as design elements. Ask yourself: is this the best method for displaying the data? Is it easy to understand?
Important NoteThe following is an example of a post that is too general, and does NOT meet discussion rubric criteria:“This is a good graph because it clearly displays the data. It is easy for anyone to understand.”Be specific – explain detailed elements of the graph/chart/image, specifically noting why that method is a good or poor choice for representing the data. Explain what types of audiences may find the visualization easy or difficult to understand, and why. Remember to also include sources that support your analysis. |
