Designing powerful health communication begins with a strong plan. Without this important step, messages often fail to accomplish their specific goal across a target population. To improve your skills in developing health messages, you will develop a plan for a persuasive health message for a public health or medical topic of interest to you. For example, you could choose communicating the importance of the annual influenza vaccine, childhood wellness checks, or the use of clean needle exchange in at-risk homeless populations. The possibilities are endless, but you should choose something that is important to you.
- Using the template provided, complete a message brief summary on your chosen topic. This will be the foundation of your persuasive message.
- Using the information in the Message Brief Summary as an outline, write a persuasive message directed to your target audience. Approximately 500 words in length.
