Sickle cell Disease

Question 1

In the discussion, Tony reveals how he came to learn that sickle cell anemia was an ailment that he would be battling for a long time. The information was broken to him when he was 21 years after having spent many days in hospital for the treatment of the same. Tony thought that he would grow out of the ailment as he aged but this was never the case. In my opinion, the lady who came around to break the news to Tony did it in an appropriate manner. Patients deserve to know the truth about their medical condition regardless of how heartbreaking such news may seem to be (Howard, Thomas, & Rawle, 2017). Tony was also at the right age and this means that he was in a position to understand what implications and circumstances he was being faced with.
