Social Glue
The social glue of an organization primarily infers the culture of an organization, which determines the actions of the different employees away from their daily activities involving the production process. It determines the nature of interpersonal relationships and the values that the employees at the firm view as being critical for anyone working at the company. For instance, the social glue within a firm could be significantly oriented towards care for others at the company, to the extent that no employee walks into the company with coffee, without an extra cup for anyone else he or she might wish to offer the kind gesture.
According to research, it would be difficult to determine the social glue in a particular firm primarily by observing their activities in the production process. On the contrary, an organization culture instrument would be the most effective tool to determine the social glue, as it includes a comprehensive list of questions, with the responses determining the spectrum to which a company falls (Cameron & Quinn, 2011).
