State of Nature
Different scholars have in the past offered varied explanations on the existence of different phenomena. One in particular has been the existence of civil societies and nature of communities prior to the existence of such societies. Different philosophers agree to the existence of a state of lawlessness, in which no legal frameworks existed due to the absence of a sovereign power. In this state of nature, people governed themselves individually, with no forms of written or verbal contracts on what one ought to or not to do.
