- In the 1970’s, America entered a time of introspection and rediscovery of our individual histories. This produced something called “Identity Politics” in which different groups in America saw themselves through a lens of national origin, gender, sexual preference, and other categories. Talk about three of these groups and explain the impact of “Identity Politics” on our political discourse.

- Richard Nixon and Jimmy Carter had very different foreign policy challenges to face. Choose one from each president’s time in office and compare and contrast them. How successful was each and what effect do their policies have on our foreign policy today?

Political Identity
Political identity enabled the formation of different groups some of which include: MOVE which was formed in 1972 by John Africa in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The group is particularly known for a conflict of police death which led to the sentence of 9 members who had killed the officer. Another conflict was when a police helicopter dropped a bomb accidentally on the MOVE compound leading to a fire that killed several in the compound.
