Human actions are guided by a certain moral code of conduct usually referred to as ethics. There has been an array of literary articles and schools of thought by different scholars regarding ethics. Some of these theories are different in scope and approach to ethics but some of them are interdependent and related. This essay will discuss the Kantian perspective towards ethics using the deontological approach rather than the consequentialism approach.
The theory of ethics according to Kant’s deontological approach argues that the moral status – that is, right or wrong – of an action does not necessarily inform the consequences of the same but is rather attached to the fulfillment of the duty that the action was meant to achieve.
