The fast-food industry is increasingly competitive as restaurants race to outfit their competitors by rolling out new technological applications to win the digital savvy consumers. Notably, the fast food chains seek to increase demand by integrating mobile ordering apps that not only offer convenience to their guests but also give them the competitive edge in the industry. According to Kelso, 2018, Chick-fil-A has proved to be different by installing Kallpod devices that allow their consumers to linger a little longer and call the server whenever they are in need with the push of a button. The addition of these devices seem like a little augmentation, but numbers indicate 500% increase in revenue in the fast food kiosks, an aspect that is attributed to the device enabling diners (Kelso, 2018). Based on porter’s value chain framework, this is a primary activity that augments Chick-fil-A operations systems to create value for its consumers.
