(1) How did it feel to consider how society sees you (based on racial stereotypes and hierarchies) and then place yourself in the “field of racial positions” according to these categories?

(2) What surprised you about the tensions or contradictions that emerged based on where you think society places you in the field versus where you would position yourself?

(3) What surprised you and what was particularly interesting about your colleagues’ videos?

(4) How did these videos demonstrate the lived experiences that we all have with the white racial frame, racial hierarchies, and differential racialization?

Question 1: How did it feel to consider how society sees you (based on racial stereotypes and hierarchies) and then place yourself in the “field of racial positions” according to these categories?

It is a bit disturbing and uncomfortable considering how society grades people all the time. It seems inevitable as in most cases, one will always be categorized depending on some factors such as economic status, religion, rand race among others (Powell 13). As said, it is uncomfortable, considering how much I value equality as well as the humanness in the human unlike ones race. It is quite unfortunate that society will always categorize me based on my race or skin color. The superiority or inferiority complex is a creation of the minds in the society and usually creates discomfort and should never be used to categorize or alienate people (Kim 108).
