Title
According to the interview with Dr. Manish, bipolar disorder affects about 3% of the American adult population and so far there has not been any conclusive answer on the cause of the disorder. However, there has been extensive research conducted on its prevalence to provide information on the extent of its impact on different people’s health status. Notably, one is diagnosed as having bipolar disorder if he or she experiences alternating episodes of depression and mania. During the periods of depression, one may wish to stay alone and in solitude, while periods of mania may include uncontrollable hyperactivity, sometimes to the extent of causing personal harm. The length of time within one phase varies significantly among individuals and could be influenced by external factors, which are also viewed as being a factor that triggers the onset of the first period of mania or depression.
