Interactions with other members of the society have always aimed at creating the best impression of self. Everyone hopes for some approval of his or her activities from the society, which explains the deviance concept and why some people are considered as taking unorthodox measures in their interaction with others. The line between what is right or wrong has always been dictated by the society, the consequence of which has been homogeneity in behavior among different people in a particular society. Parents form the initial source of the directive on appropriate behavior, which is often reinforced by punishment for any form of wrongdoing.
