Poverty in the United States
Poverty is an issue of significant concern in the United States and made a large part of the discussions held during the 2016 Presidential elections (Bergerr, Cancain, & Magnuson, 2018). The government plays a critical role in helping address the issue, which explains the extensive nature of government involvement in helping reduce the extent to which it affects the people. According to recent statistics, Washington has always been the leading state in the development of policies addressing poverty-related issues, and the results have so far been positive enough for the region (Strauss, 2010).
