Compensation Packages for Business Executives
- Do you think CEOs and other executives are worth the compensation packages they receive? Why or why not?
Parity in compensation and benefits received by different employees within organizational settings has often been a subject of discussion in different contexts. Although much of the attention related to equal pay often gravitates towards gender differences, position within the organizational structure is also subject to as much discussion, largely due to variation in the compensation amount for employees. In particular, businesses Chief Executives (CEOs) have continuously experienced an exponential increase in the amount of compensation received over the past two decades (Karabell, 2018). The high compensation received in the contemporary society is so high and unnecessary as it does not need to be as high to exemplify their position at the firm, noting that a lower level, could still suffice to meet the expectations of the position.
