Human resource management roles are no longer limited to activities within the organizational setting and in direct response to the needs of the company. On the contrary, factors such as improvement in technology have led to a redefinition in the roles of the human resource department (Stone, Deadrick, Lukaszewski, & Johnson, 2015). In particular, the human resource team no longer needs to simply rest and wait to interact with employees in the workplace. Extensive use and dependence on social media has made it a necessity that the human resource department interacts, monitors, and sources some of the team players in the department through social media platforms. Ultimately, this change in technology has redefined the different approaches in hiring, management, and efforts to improve the human resource activities in the firm.
