Identify common types of malware and the threats they pose.
There are different types of malware but some of the common ones include virus, computer worms and spyware. A virus has the ability of duplicating itself and then spreading to other computers. They do so by attaching themselves to a program. When these programs are introduced or launched in a different computer, the virus will execute a code hence affecting the computer. They can also be spread through various script files and documents. They pose a threat of information theft, damaging the host computer and the linked networks, rendering advertisements and even stealing money (Cluley).
The second common malware are computer worms which are spread to other computer through exploiting operating system which are vulnerable.
