Abstract
Child abuse is a social issue in contemporary society, particularly considering the prevalence and implications of the issue. The paper herein provides useful insight into the problem starting from the statistics associated with the issue as the foundation for the necessity of intervention. Further analysis of the implications of the cases of abuse on children reveals that child abuse has the potential to affect the child’s social and psychological behavior. Therefore, an intervention into child abuse through policy development would have significant impacts on the child’s psychological and social welfare.

Addressing Child Abuse
Naturally, every living organism has a responsibility to provide care and nurture to its offspring. Children particularly require extensive care and attention from their caregivers, failure to which there would be high chances of problems in the child’s development process. According to the Child help organization, child abuse involves any incidences in which actions or lack of appropriate action by a caregiver would result in injury, emotional harm, or even death of a child.
