‘Eyes on the prize’ is a civil rights documentary that depicts the events during the civil rights movement from the point of view of men and women whose experiences and extraordinary actions contributed to a change in the fabric of American life. This documentary embodies the struggles of the black people whose reverberations continue to be felt today. It is a compelling story of people-men and women, young and old, Northern and Southern, who worked through conscience and circumstance to eradicate a world where blacks and whites could not go to the same school, vote in the same election, enjoy equal rights, or ride the same bus (Hampton, 1987).
