Introduction
Abu ‘Ali al-Husayn ibn Sina is well recognized in Europe because he is the founding father of Islam philosophy. His Latinized name Avicenna is even more popular in Europe for his contribution towards philosophy in the Islamic Golden Age. Having existed between c. 980 and 1037, Avicenna made various contributions to philosophy, and his work influenced famous philosophers like Thomas Aquinas (Gutas, 2016).
