The revolutionary war started in Massachusetts where the colonists reacted by forming a resistance. Eric Foner explains how the American Revolution was a battle of words, thoughts, and opinions that kicked off at the end of the seven-year war of the mid-1700s. The British felt entitled and they chased after the idea of consolidating their empire by controlling the colonies through the parliament as established it was established back in Britain.
