Paper instructions
Topic, question, significance, disciplinary map is a stripped-down version of your entire project development to-date. For this assignment, you create short, one to four sentence entries to describe your topic in more specific terms; identify your key research question or questions (you don’t want more than three questions, even if you have additional questions that your work will address–one to two questions should help you focus your study); explain the significance of your work–what is specifically interdisciplinary about your approach? Why does your phenomenon necessitate an interdisciplinary approach?
Finally, create a disciplinary mapping of your phenomenon–how does your phenomenon suggest that different disciplines’ methods–their typical research assumptions and approaches (as well as versions of validity in creating research results)–are necessary to better understand your phenomenon?
