Welcome to Week 7

With the transformations in healthcare, the ACA, and meaningful use regulations, the role of informatics in healthcare has grown rapidly. Some of our class are natives to the technology world while others have had to learn new skills as technology has grown. While a myriad of forces are changing the face of contemporary healthcare, one could argue that nothing will change the way nursing is practiced more than current advances in technology. Indeed, technology is changing the world at warp speed and nowhere is this more evident than in healthcare settings (Huston, 2013).

Huston, C., (May 31, 2013) “The Impact of Emerging Technology on Nursing Care: Warp Speed Ahead” OJIN: The Online Journal of Issues in Nursing Vol. 18, No. 2, Manuscript
