You will read essays, short stories, and poetry by several of the most influential writers in the American literary tradition. For the assessment, you will write 2 to 3-paragraphs responding to one of the given prompts below.

Democracy is said to be the type of governance that allows the free will of the people to be heard. It operates under the majority rule and in most cases has been seen to be the best of its kind. With the poem “Ain’t I a woman”, several issues have been highlighted. The poem depicts talks about discrimination both in race and genders.
