Discussion 1
In the first TED Talk, the speaker, BJ Miller discusses what really matters at the end of life. The speaker asserts that there are certain things that people want at the end of life. One of the things is to avoid suffering during the process of dying. Many people do not fear being dead but are afraid of the pain that they have to go through in the process of dying. Secondly, people want to be close to their family members, colleagues, and loved ones. This helps explain why healthcare institutions allow family members to be at the bedside of an individual who is facing imminent death.
