Advanced Treatment & Management
Overview
In this module students will begin to organize their focus towards treatment planning. Although an actual treatment will not be written in this chapter, students will start focusing on the essential elements of a treatment plan.

This discussion question is based on Case 1.2: Temper Tantrums from Chapter 1 from
the DSM-5-TR Clinical Cases
Brandon’s mother has reached out to you, seeking your professional opinion: Should Brandon should switch from his current middle school to the Florida Virtual School which would be entirely online? Your recommendation and supporting rationale need to be at least at least 300 words and include at least two outside references. be assigned readings from the Clinical Cases book (blue cover associated with
the DSM-5-TR), which is part of the American Psychiatric Association’s clinical
library. A free soft copy of the book is available through the APPI database. Here
are some simple directions to access it:
Step 1: Enter the library’s site, which can be found on the MySPC landing page.
Just scroll down, look towards your right and you will see the link for the
library.
Step 2: Choose “databases A–Z.”
Step 3: Scroll down until you find the APPI Psychiatry Online database. Tic
here.
Step 4: You should see on the topic ribbon a drop down for the “DSM Library”.
You should then see the Clinical Cases book (Use the the one with the blue cover
associated with the “TR” edition.)
