Analysis of the Letter from Birmingham Jail
Martin Luther King Jr. is one of the forces that campaigned against racial segregation in the United States. He was arrested in April 1963 for breaking an unjust law for which he had led demonstrations in the country where the blacks agitated for their rights. After his arrest, King is denied his constitutional right of consulting a lawyer for about twenty-four hours. However, when he is allowed contact from the outside world, King reads a copy of the Birmingham Post Newspaper where there is a letter from eight local clergymen who have expressed their opinions on the ongoing demonstrations.
