Argumentative Essay

Argumentative Essay

Write a thesis-based argumentative essay responding to the following prompt:
Write to a parent or authority figure in your life to convince them to allow you to do something you are/were not allowed to do, or to convince them to give you something that you did not/could not have.
For example, you might write an argument convincing your parents to buy you a car, or convince them to allow you to date, or to stay out later on weekends. You might also consider writing to a boss at work to allow you time off, or to change your schedule.
While this is a simple prompt meant to focus you on the basics of thesis-based essay writing and it lends itself to simpler topics, keep in mind that you will need to write a minimum of 850 words on the topic, so be sure that you choose something you can write about at length. For this essay, you may use the first -person (I, me, we), but you may not use the second-person (you, your, yours) in either the general sense or in the sense that it would address the reader.
