The article that I chose from the assigned articles is titled The Role of Faculty Mentors in the Research Training of Counseling Psychology Doctoral Students and was published on the Journal of Counseling Psychology in 2003. The authors are Merris A. Hollingsworth and Ruth E. Fassinger. In the article, the authors discuss the roles that are supposed to be played faculty mentors in research and training of counselling psychology doctoral students. Faculty mentors are charged with the responsibility of ensuring that all doctoral students have the necessary materials that they require to excel in their doctoral studies. Such help is important due to the increased scrutiny that has been observed within counseling psychology within the last two decades. The aim of this essay is to conduct an analysis of the article.
