Public administration is the practice which deals with the implementation of government policies and plans. The process involves the execution of different tasks by agencies as well as the civil servants in the quest to meet public services which are essential for the smooth running of the local, state and federal government. While public administration exists as a practice within the government of the United States, it has progressed towards becoming an academic discipline as much as it is a government practice. Since the practice draws concepts from disciplines such as politics, philosophy, and science among others, it qualifies as a discipline on its own which has evolved into a study of the implementation of these government policies.
