Agents often misrepresent the views of the athlete in various contract negotiations and this has the potential to affect the career of the sportsman or sportswoman. An athlete who has faced such issues in the recent past is Monta Ellis. Ellis is an American professional basketballer who is renowned for his skills on the basketball court. Ellis last played for the Indiana Pacers in the NBA. In 2015, Ellis turned down a three year contract extension with the Bucks that was worth over $36 million (Helin, 2015).
