The contemporary society has seen an increase in challenges associated with weight problems increase, with most scholars attributing the change to the increased dependence on technology (Artal et al. 598). However, it would be important to highlight the challenge associated with the generalization of technology as being a causative factor in the weight-related issues. As opposed to the general tech use, some of the technology whose popularity has increased over the years has significantly reduced the chances of engagement in physical activities. For instance, there are now scooters available for people with weight problems to move around easily. On the contrary, physical movement without dependence on mobility scooters would help reduce the individual’s weight, ultimately reducing his or her risk of contracting weight-related health challenges.
