Part 1: Book Summary
Nightis a book authored by Elie Wiesel, in which he narrates hisexperiencesduring histime incaptivityat the Buchenwald and Auschwitz concentration camps between1944 and 1945, in the hands of the Nazis. This was during the Holocaust period just before the end of World War Two. The story begins in 1941 in Sighet. Elie, a Conventional Jewish, was only 16 years old at the time (Wiesel, 1982). He first describes the move by the Hungarian Government to expel the Jews who did not have citizenship documents, including his family.
