Sexual assault of juveniles in correctional facilities is one of the prevalent issues in criminal justice today. One may think that these are offenders and this kind of treatment serves them right but you are wrong. Some of the forms of abuse that these children face are very inhumane including physical beating and rape, and some of them die as a result. When these teenagers go through sexual assault, most of them contract HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (Lambie & Randell, 2013).
