Challenging Aspects
Introduction:
“The oldest baby boomers turned 60 in 2006, and when the trend peaks in 2030, the number of people over age 65 will soar to 71.5 million—which is one in every five Americans. This is twice the number as in 2000” (O’Brien, 2014, para. 2). This gradual population increase of those over 65 has created a continuous need for services that target this growing population. There will be an increasing need for health care, nutrition programs, transportation, housing, financial education, workforce development as well as civic engagement.

Planning for the Elderly
The society is continuously changing, particularly due to demographic changes as the population in the society evolves. Firstly, the government needs to ensure that the health policies guarantee the ability for the elderly to access various needs as they need to (Sum, Sudore, & Bekelman, 2015).
