The DRP is documented in a written plan detailing on the processes for adoption during a disaster (Wallace & Webber, 2017). As such, the DRP is designed to enable the organization to mitigate the impact of the disaster and revert to its normal operations. An effective DRP should foster business continuity and enable the business to return to its normal activities thereby minimizing the impact of the disaster.
