Evaluate practice with organizations and communities
Getting Started
Every community or organizational intervention needs an evaluation to determine whether the goals of the intervention were achieved effectively and in a timely manner. According to the National Association of Social Workers’ Code of Ethics, social workers have an ethical obligation to monitor and evaluate their programs, policies, and practice interventions to determine whether they meet the needs of the target client system. In this workshop activity, you will develop an instrument for assessing the success of your proposed intervention. To do so, you will need to think about what the community or organization hopes to achieve through the intervention. Additionally, you will need to consider your assessment of the problem, interaction with stakeholders, and community data to develop a measure of success that is timely, reasonable, and realistic.
