Louis Armstrong’s transformed jazz music by a great way in the 1920’s. One of the major ways was through changing the nature of soloist and ensemble. This led to the creation of the Swing Era. He also helped in the infusion of the New Orleans jive that meant that there was more rhythm to the music than ever before. Another contribution of Armstrong was that he came up with the standard of improvisation. Improvisation meant that jazz artists were freer on the stage and could bring in personal elements about the music on stage.
