Question 1
Life would be complicated in the ternary world. It is difficult for a ternary computer to outperform any binary computer. This is because, in a binary way, it is easy for circuits to work, either on or off. When a circuit is run in the ternary way, someone tries to distinguish (1) ON, (2) OFF and as well as (3) something in the middle (Ifrah et al., 2000). It takes a lot of circuitry to differentiate something in the middle, from ON or OFF and the margin of the noise will certainly be less.
