Cosmides and Tooby
Cosmides and Tooby present the example that dung flies liking the smell of dung while humans hate the smell. Behind this example is an insight into the processes of evolution, both in terms of its time course and in terms of what adaptations do for us. Using the dung example or another one, explain, in a 2 page paper, why the time course and function of evolutionary adaptations are relevant for understanding why some of our thought processes are adapted to a hunter-gatherer society instead of to the industrial, technological age that we live in. Please use 12 pt. font, double spaced and follow APA style (including a reference page) outlined in the links above.

Cosmides and Tooby
Cosmides and Tooby delve into the psychology of evolution and how different organisms adapt to the changes around them such that they start finding them comfortable compared to what other organisms may perceive of the surroundings that the other organism lives. An example that they present is how dung flies find it comfortable to stay in places that smell of dung. These organisms are used to these environments since they come into existence. As a result, they develop a psychological notion that it is comfortable to be in such surroundings whereas humans may find it difficult to be in such surroundings. The example is what the authors refer to as evolutionary psychology. It stands for any attempt that is made to explain any adoption of a behavior based on supplementary psychology.
