Summary of Inductive Generalization
Inductive generalization is a type of inductive argument which draws conclusions by sampling a fraction of the entire population, in order to make justifiable claims about trends in the population without observing each member of the population. The information obtained from the sample is assumed to be the possible representation of the whole populace. Although this is the case, inductive generalization is predisposed to two weaknesses which concern the sample.
