“It is better to study major international languages like English rather than to spend time on minority languages for the sake of regional identity.” Do you agree? What would be the benefits and detriments of a similar arrangement? What would be gained and what would be lost? Write a meaningful answer that fully addresses the question above.

Language is the most defining element of an individual, and one cannot fully understand other people’s culture without learning their language. Language is very influential, and it determines the way people conduct themselves and business and also the way people learn in schools. There are various languages in the world, some of which are majority languages such as English and French because they are spoken by a large population. However, one cannot deny the presence of minority languages that define people’s culture such as Vietnamese, Swahili, and Cantonese. Even though people spend time learning minority languages for regional identities and cultural preservation, it is better for one to learn major languages such as English for easier communication, education, and business relations.
