- What is the diathesis-stress model?
Please describe the general diathesis-stress model, making sure that you define the components of the model. - Next, after viewing the film clip, which is available in the next file, please state how would you explain the biological “roots” of Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD) in terms of a diathesis-stress model.
The purpose of this assignment is for you to demonstrate your appreciation of the diathesis-stress concept as well as your understanding of the video clip. - Please propose additional experimental evidence that would help convince you that the investigator’s model accurately accounted for at least some cases of ASPD. Please limit your answer to 500 words.
Note: You will have to download the movie clip onto your laptop. The movie clip is 8 minutes long and approx 85 MB.
Grading rubric:
The student must clearly describe ALL the components of the diathesis-stress model, as taught in Psych 405. (3 points)
The student must identify the components of the diathesis for Antisocial Personality Disorder, according to the movie clip (4 points).
The student must identify the STRESS component for Antisocial Personality Disorder, according to the movie clip ( 2points)
The student demonstrates appreciation of research methods (1 point).
