“Cultural differences cause problems. It is better for people to stay in their own countries rather than to migrate to other ones.” Do you agree? Please write a meaningful answer (three or more paragraphs) that fully addresses the question above.
I do not agree with the statement, “Cultural differences cause problems. It is better for people to stay in their own countries than migrate to other ones.” This is bias statement that does not reflect the feelings and thoughts of the majority. It is a statement that could be the thoughts of a sole individual projecting their feelings onto the majority. Cultural differences could not cause conflict if each side respects one another and understand it is ok to disagree without becoming harmful to one another. Cultural difference is not cultural superiority, everyone should be viewed and valued equally despite their differences.
People migrate to other countries and other locations for better opportunities. The early settlers traveled to America in search for a better life. I do not believe that people would leave their homes and family behind to travel to a foreign country and unfamiliar territory if the desire for a better life was not dire. The foreigner is leaving behind many of those things familiar, language, food, religion, and customs. People also risk their lives and freedom in search of a better life for themselves and their children. Often times the hope and belief that a better life can be found in a different country is a risk that many are willing to make.
I believe as an individual you benefit from working and living around different groups of people. During this time, you can share values and become open to values. I think that is an authentic way of communicating and embracing each other. It is a way of sharing ideas and learning about one another and understanding that most people have many of the same values and beliefs despite our geographical locations.
