Death in Venice
My initial impressions of the novella were based on life and death. This impression first developed due to the title of the novella which suggests that there could be instances where some of the main characters die within the plot of the novel. The main character, Aschenbach also seems to be undergoing a process that is similar to death. At the start of the novella, we are told that he was an accomplished writer. However, as the novella continues, he starts to lose hope and becomes an admirer something that he was not associated with in the past.
