Alex is de Tocqueville was a French socialist and a political theorist who existed in the periods 1805 to 1859, he was popularly known for his book “Democracy in America.” Alexis traveled briefly to the United States where he took his time to study the judicial system and in particular the prisons there; from this, he codified his observations in this book “Democracy in America” which was regarded as one of the most influential books of the 19th century.
