The Indian Caste system, more than 3000 years old, is a system that segregates individuals in terms of their work and the duties they are meant to perform as dictated by the system. As such, individual members of society were allowed different privileges depending on their levels in the caste. Moreover, the different members of each caste were connected by matters concerning marriage, contact both direct and indirect, hierarchy and profession.
