What were one or two specific consequences of Dr. King’s assassination?
Do you think these events would have taken place even if Dr. King had not been assassinated? Why or why not
after you write the discussion reply to following two post. In response to your peers, explain whether you agree or disagree with their conclusions. Provide specifics reasons as to why or why not.
Post 1: Dr. King was a very inspirational man for our past and our future. I strongly believe in what he faught for and what he still stands for today. I will tell you when he gave this speech it shook the nerves of everybody who heard it. I mean the way he told his people that they would not stand in fear of the white man. It takes a lot for someone to take the stand for there beliefs like Dr.King did. I mean his people were showing up dead, torchered, and raped if they stood by him in the fight for civil rights. The fight to end segregation was a tough battle. I feel that his speech of I had a dream was not know for the name of his speech. I feel it was the cries for quality and the pain of segregation to the end. If Dr. king would not have been killed that day the struggle for African american rights would still be going on today. I have seen so much segregation here in Georgia in the year 2020. We are still living it!!! It has not gone away!!!
Post 2: The Assassination of Dr. King had the largest impact of racial dividence in America. Had Dr. King not been assassinated I honestly believe America would have been the dream he spoke of where we all live in harmony and work to better one another. The civil rights leaders wanted to see the dream Dr. King had told them about. This act made the Civil Rights and the Woman’s Right to Vote come together on an agreement that they both needed to work together to reach their goals.
