MULTIPLE ROLE RELATIONSHIPS

Dual or multiple role relationships occur in the field of healthcare when a therapist has a concurrent relationship with their client both professionally and socially. It can also occur when a therapist has a professional role with a patient and agrees to be in another relationship with the latter in the future. Multiple role relationships involve more than two roles, (Zur, 2016). For instance, a therapist is seeing a patient and is sexually attracted to them.
