Part 1

Florence Nightingale was an English social reformer and the founder of modern nursing practice. Her contributions to the nursing field were exemplified when she was a manager of nurses following the Crimean war. She was charged with the responsibility of organizing care for the wounded during the war. At the time, nursing was not considered to be a reputable career. However, most of the soldiers appreciated her efforts and this brought about many changes within the nursing field that propelled the discipline to what it is today. In my opinion, Florence Nightingale is still relevant to the nursing profession even in the 21st century.
